yesterday i was standing outside in a tee shirt in denver. today, after flying into the remains of a blizzard, i was out in mittens, hat, coat, and snow boots. somerville welcomed me back with open arms...
i saw kathryn cleaning the snow off her car and before i could properly think the situation through, i had asked her to be a part of my project. you see, snow is difficult to photograph in combination with skin tones without the aid of flash. anyway, i gave it a shot, but this won't be the photograph that makes me famous.
kathryn was very sweet. when i told her about the project she lit up, which, if i had to be honest, made me feel pretty good. i moved her around a bit and then we made some photographs. she said she would look at the other photographs, too. i hope she does because hers does not do her justice.
